SCHOOLS INVITED TO EDUCATION EVENT ON AFTERMATH OF WW1

Schools are invited to apply for places at the WW100 Scotland Education Event on Thursday 6 December at the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh.

The 2018 event will look at the aftermath of the war.  With contributions from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, Poppyscotland and Royal British Legion Scotland, this is a one day event with lunch provided.

Aimed at S3 pupils and above, the workshops will look at how, for many servicemen, the war might be over but the struggle continued leading to the establishment of Legion ScotlandThe Commonwealth War Graves Commission will give an insight into the sheer scale of their work – which continues to this day and Poppyscotland will explain the importance of remembrance then and now.

With an opening address by Professor Sir Hew Strachan teachers should be aware places are limited and early booking is advised.
